The best thing is to research on the internet first, looking at the names of the dolls etc and found out what the average selling price is. If some are quite collectable consider saving some as it be worth investing in the near future and could go up in price.
There are also quite a few specialized books that focus just on collectable dolls too, check out Amazon.

You could post details of it at Ebay or Auction-USA and then see what kind of prices your Little Rock doll fetches.

You should buy them when they are barely new because prices go up fast like you wouldn't believe! Toy stores tend to take advantage, so they price dolls higher than what they're worth at the time, look in your local department stores where they might have the same doll for less
Amazon.com has some pretty nice dolls but really look into prices because someone might be selling a doll for like $10.00 while another person might have the exact same one being sold for $50.00+
About the space, closet shelves work pretty well since not everyone can reach easily, most especially younger children, they're out of animal reach, and they won't be touched by anyone but you, it works for me :)

I've answered this question once and my answer disappeared. Hmmmmmm?
I think that ebay is your best source for selling dolls, but if you want to sell locally I'd advise you to advertise in a local paper or on a local website such as Craigslist. If your dolls are modern porcelain they might be a hard sell because not many doll collector's buy them, you'll have to find someone who collects that type of doll, just don't expect to get what they sold for new. If they are antique, be sure to research what you have before selling them.

I have collected dolls for 20 years, and I love the history of the antique toys and have a full library of reference books. I am able to repair dolls all the way back to 1820's and have a great business doing that, I write articles for national magazines on rare dolls. This is one of the largest hobbies world wide. I sell very large collections of antique and other doll up to the middle 1960's, electronically and at some doll shows. I ship all over the world through my electronic stores and have a great time. I am able to share my collections in locked cabinets in nursing homes, the residents love the memories of their childhoods. I also appraise the values of the dolls at very large estates and have done so for years. Some dolls sell for 50 thousand dollars and up the more rare.
There is a national association of doll collectors call ufdc.org visit the site and a magazine called Antique Doll Collector.
Doll collecting of the antiques you have to be educated on what you are buying and the women range from Doctors to everyday worker from all walks of life. I do not believe there is a typical profile a collector for Dolls and toys. It may be appreciation of the sculptor and the designers for clothing from history,
The Germans had whole villages that worked on dolls from making the leather bodies and stuffed my the entire family including the children, the young girls blew the glass eyes because there eye site was so good. They had kilns painters, dress makes. very interesting history and after the Franco Prussian war the French started making dolls they got mad at the Germans and did not want to buy their dolls anymore.
Maybe this will help you, you have to have money for this hobby, thats the only tie I know of.

No I do not know about a doll maker but I do know of a website that has printable 3D (cut out and glue) mini's great for doll houses!
http://www.printmini.com/printables/pp.shtml
This site is great. He updates it annually and you can select sizes of the mini's you want. some of the things he has are : tvs, rugs, desks, wall outlets, posters, computers, clocks, and so on. So much detail is put into everything he makes and it is all free!
